STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters…S.T.R.

(useful information - click on picture below for enlargement)

My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks. Seriously.. Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don’t die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this…

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the “3″ steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S
* Ask the individual to SMILE.
T *
Ask the person to TALK to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today)
R
* Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

NOTE: Another ’sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person to ’stick’ out their tongue. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately !! and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Caution…They Walk Among Us!

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house.
To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a
sign on it saying:
“Free to good home. You want it, you take it.”
For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking
twice at it.
He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal.
It looked to good to be true, so he changed the sign to read:
“Fridge for sale $50.”
The next day someone stole it !!!
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when someone shouted….
“Look at that dead bird!”
Someone looked up at the sky and said…”where???”
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

====================

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which
direction was north
because, he explained, he didn’t want the sun waking him up every morning.
She asked, “Does the sun rise in the north?”
When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, and has for sometime,
she shook her head and said, “Oh, I don’t keep up with that stuff.”
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center.
One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call
center was open.
I told him, “The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
He responded, “Is that Eastern or Pacific time?”
Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, “Uh, Pacific” . . .
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria,
when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about
the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore.
She drove down in a convertible, but
“didn’t think she’d get sunburned because the car was moving”.
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

====================
My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car
it’s designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped.
She keeps it in the trunk…
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were
discounted 10%.
Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases.
The cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount….
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

====================

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman
with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain.
My friend said, “Wouldn’t the chain rip out every time she turned her head?”
I explained that a person’s nose and ear remain the same distance apart
no matter which way the head is turned…
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

====================

I couldn’t find my luggage at the airport baggage area.
So I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my
bags never showed up.
She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained
professional and I was in good hands.
“Now,” she asked me, “has your plane arrived yet?”…
Caution…They Walk Among Us!

====================

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go.
He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut
into 4 pieces or 6.
He thought about it for some time before responding.
“Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don’t think I’m hungry enough to eat 6 pieces.

NYPD Detective Breaks His Silence on Kahane and the WTC

by Hana Levi Julian

A New York Police Department detective has broken his silence about the connection between Rabbi Meir Kahane’s murderer and the terrorists who destroyed the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center.
Political activist Rabbi Meir Kahane was murdered after a speech in Manhattan by an Egyptian-born al-Qaeda terrorist in 1990, but because no one actually saw al-Sayed Nuseir pull the trigger, he was acquitted of the crime and was instead convicted on a lesser charge of possession of an illegal weapon. Three years later, Kahane’s murderer helped lead the terror cell which attacked the World Trade Center in 1993.

At the time, the theory that Kahane’s murder had been part of a terror conspiracy was discounted by federal investigators. NYPD Detective John Molleli knew better, however, having been the first to find and examine the papers in Nuseir’s apartment. Boxes of notebooks and other papers written in Arabic, complete with diagrams, revealed the existence of a terrorist cell operating in the New Jersey – New York area. The papers included plans to attack a number of targets in New York City, including the World Trade Center.

Kahane was considered a troublemaker who promoted an unpopular view that Arabs who lived in Israeli territory should be encouraged to move out of the country. According to a program on Israel’s Channel 2 TV, the evidence was ignored because Kahane was the victim in the case, and it was quickly removed to the offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

The documents were largely ignored until the 1993 terror attack on the Twin Towers, in which six people died and 100 were injured. At that time, the boxes confiscated from Nuseir’s apartment were finally opened and closely examined, and the Arabic was translated.

Nuseir was later convicted as a co-conspirator of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman for the 1993 bombing, as well as conspiracy to attack New York landmarks and assassinate U.S. politicians.

Both men were sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 15 years. It was only after that trial that Nuseir was also convicted of murdering Kahane as part of the “seditious conspiracy.”Nuseir continued to manage the affairs of the al-Qaeda terror cell that continued to operate in the U.S. and on September 11, 2001 succeeded in completing the job it attempted in 1993, the destruction of the World Trade Center.

Should SEOs Recommend or Implement Optimization Changes?

By Stoney DeGeyter

A recent study showed that a majority of companies (64%) fail to implement some or all of their SEO company’s recommendations. According to the study the primary reasons company’s failed to implement the recommendations provided by their SEO were as follows:

  1. 33.6% - Lack of human resources to implement the change
  2. 16.8% - Lack of outsourced IT budget
  3. 15.4% - Timing/frequency of update issues
  4. 9.4% - Upper management decisions not to implement the recommendations
  5. 8.7% - Agency failed to prioritize specific recommendations
  6. 8.7% - Lack of agency implementation support
  7. 8.1% - Branding issues/restrictions
  8. 8.1% - Unpredictable ROI if changes were implemented
  9. 6.7% - Other reasons
  10. 6.0% - Predicted ROI did not justify such changes
  11. 3.4% - Agency failed to education company on the required resources to implement recommendations

If you look closely at that list, most of the reasons cited for not implementing SEO changes can easily be remedied and eliminated by making one simple change: Hire an SEO that will make the changes themselves, rather than submitting a list of recommendations.

That’s the big issue here, many SEOs simply do not make SEO changes for their client but instead they provide a list of changes that the client must make in order for the SEO campaign to be successful. No wonder why so many SEO campaigns miss the mark on success.

Let’s look at that list again after removing factors involving the client having to implement the recommendations themselves.

  1. 9.4% - Upper management decisions not to implement the recommendations
  2. 8.1% - Branding issues/restrictions
  3. 6.7% - Other reasons

Reasons for SEO not being able to be properly implemented on a site will always crop up over the course of a campaign. Sometimes it’s technological issues with how the site is designed, other times it’s client preferences on how the changes should be implemented.

For security reasons, some client’s refuse to allow their SEO access to their site. That’s fair, and certainly their right to do so, but that company must also take on the responsibility of making all such changes and bear the blame if the results of the SEO campaign are less than expected.

This makes a strong argument toward selecting an SEO provider that does more than simply provide recommended changes, but actually implements those changes for their clients. Excuses for lack of SEO implementations can be significantly minimized and in many cases eliminated when the client gives the SEO the responsibility of implementing all the optimization changes themselves. This removes the client from the process allowing for faster implementation of more changes for increases ranking results.

Before selecting an search engine marketing company, you need to do a little internal and external research. Are you willing to give the SEO access to your site to make the changes necessary that will produce results? If so, be select an SEO that includes implementation as part of their optimization services. Not only will that save you time and money, it will also ensure that your SEO campaign can and will be more effective.

Your picture is a great reminder.Because the statue looks like an ice sculpture I would have prefered to see the two beams of light. Regardless, the firefighter^s bowed head speaks for itself…I like the silence that the picture conveys. Who am I to criticise? I have been re-living the moments (it was a very long week/year 2001) for many days now!Thank you for an opportunity to say a few words! An God Bless All The People of America North and South, east and west!

It is a day that noone should ever forget or take lightly just how much these people hate us and want to destroy us. I was at Disneyworld in Orlando, Fla on 09/11/01, and so many people from all walks of life just clung to each other as we were evacuated from the park. It is a horrible event that I will never forget, an act of war on this wonderful nation in which we live and sometimes take our freedoms for granted. Thank you for this picture and thank you the compassion you have and not putting something funny on the page today. Carolyn, Virginia

Just as the seasons pass, there is no season in which we will forget what happened two years ago today. Each of our lives have been forever changed. Continuing to remember those families in prayer. We now must pray also for those brave men and women who are serving to protect and defend our country. I pray we all remember them and their familes also. May God continue to bless America as we faithfully look to Him as our source of comfort, strength and security. Blessings to you for sharing this.

More than 5 Thousands of people : women ,children killed in Afghanistn in the war . More than 250 thousands of people killed in Japan after warÉÉ in atomic bomb . This is most touching, as my husband was a fire fighter for 33-years, Havening been retired 2-years now, But he spent many a day & night fighting fires in the fridige cold as well as in the broilling hot summers all geared up in those very hot cover clothes they have to wear. I am so very thankful that he doesn^t have to do that anymore, even though he misses his job very much. No We Will Never Forget. For someone to do things like those people did it just seems like to me they have been over come by the evil one, But their judgment day will come. I am rendered speachless as just how hariffic that day was, But alot of thoughts go on in my head as I beleive it does in all of America. With that said I will also add We Will All Stand Together to bumbard these murdering thugs no matter what it takes. Stand Tall And Strong America.

Just one comment though to the Muslims who seem unable to understand the difference from people dieing all over the world, to people suddenly having their lives shattered by selfish, terrorist attacks. Yes you are correct, muslims and indeed people of every other religion, die every day, be it naturally or acts of violence etc - but the victims, both living and deceased, of 9/11 were innocent people, living their lives, going to work etc etc and had their lives torn apart by muslim actions! Why bring innocent people into your wicked world?

I remember crying as I watched Russia come to terms with the fact that their government poisoned Russians in a theatre while terrorists held them hostage. I also cry everytime a bomb goes off in the Middle East because someone is losing their loved one in those blasts. But, you know what the day Osama Bin Laden, Sadaam Hussein, or any other terrorist dies, I will crack open the bottle of champagne and celebrate for their lives to me are worthless! May God continue to bless American and our other WORLD leaders for their job can have death rates in the billions!

  120. TO: MUSLIM MAN - I think misunderstanding is about U.S. doesn^t live with collective violence against innocent people. (i.e. Hamas against Israel, the Taliban against anyone who doesn^t agree with them, but worse - what about African nations - in Rawanda alone several million have been killed in local (outsiders not involved) violence - - who^s to cry for them? Elsewhere in Africa in many of the muslim countries african people are still sold - often legally - These things are what they are - - some hit us closer to home and some not so close - but persons who commit violence to others who are not engaged in personal battle (civilians vs. soldiers - bombs in department stores where the bomber has no knowledge of who will be killed or injured - NO GOOD EVER COMES FROM THESE THINGS - and the people who do them are without moral understanding.

  121. Why on earth would ANYBODY write bad things about this photo? We shall NEVER forget the bravery of these fine people! And we shall NEVER forget that on September 11, 2001, our United States were viciously attacked…it seems to me that the only thing we HAVE forgotten about that day is to WHOM we cried out for help and mercy and healing…GOD ALMIGHTY. For a few brief shining moments in this new decade, people put aside their political agendas, prayer became “acceptable” again, and those who would erase all evidence of Him in our country were silent…the One who could heal our nation has been set aside while “politically correct” people go about putting secular band-aids on spiritual cancer. Let us NOT ever forget what happened that day, let us NOT forget that men^s souls can be good and brave and self-sacrificing in brotherhood and unconditional lovingkindness, let us NOT forget the Lord God, for He is coming again, no matter how much we wish He would not. I, for one, echo the words of the Bible: “Even now, COME Lord Jesus!”

  146. THIS IS TO THE IDIOT ” MUSLIM MAN” YOUR COMMENT ABOUT THE 911 SCULPURE WAS AN INSULT. I DON^T KNOW HOW YOUR COUNRTY WORKS OR THE CONNECTION WITH ONE ANOTHER IS BUT HERE, IN AMERICA, WE ARE ALL FAMILY. YES, WE DON^T ALWAYS SEE EYE TO EYE AND WE HATE EACH OTHER FOR IGNORANT REASONS LIKE SKIN COLOR, WHO^S RICHER, WHO^S FAT OR WHO THE HELL IS SKINNY. BUT AS YOU CAN SEE, ON 911 AND EVERY DAY AFTER THAT, THE LOVE AAND RESPECT FOR OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT GOD. WE LOST OUR FIREFIGHTERS, OUR FRIENDS, OUR FAMILY MEMBERS SO HELL NO WE WILL NEVER __ING FORGET IT. AND WHO ARE YOU TO SAY THAT WE DON^T CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS OVER IN YOUR COUNTRY. IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN, IT IS US WHO SPENDS OUR MONEY TO SPONSOR THESE COMMERCIALS THAT YOU SEE ON T.V TO COLLECT MONEY AND SEND OVER TO YOUR COUNTRY AND EVERY OTHER PLACE. AS A MATTER OF FACT, YOU^RE ON OUR SATTLELITE TALKING TRASH. YOU SAY THAT ALL AMERICANS ONLY THINK OF THEMSELVES BUT IF THAT^S SO TRUE, THAN WHY ARE YOU HERE DOING WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU^RE DOING? WHY COULDN^T YOU DO THAT AT HOME. IF WE ONLY THOUGHT ABOUT OURSELVES, THEN WE WOULDN^T LET YOUR ASS COME HERE SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE A BETTER LIFE, SO THAT YOU CAN WALK TO THE STORE WITHOUT BEING SHOT AT OR WORSE..KILLED. YOU CAME TO AMERICA BECAUSE WE ARE THE SHIT, WE ARE THE BEST, AND WE ARE FOREVER BABY. THAT^S WHY YOU CAME HERE. YOU CAME HERE BECAUSE YOU WANT SOME OF THIS BECAUSE YOU COULDN^T GET IT THERE. HOW DARE YOU TELL US TO GET OVER 911. HOW DARE YOU TELL US THAT IT WAS NOTHING. I WAS HAVING A GOOD TIME LOOKING AT FUNNY PICTURES BUT NOW I^M PISSED BECAUSE YOU INSULTED MY COUNTRY AND I AM VERY BOTHERED BY THAT. AND OH, YES. I FORGOT TO TELL YOU THAT WHATEVER DOESN^T KILL US ONLY MAKES US STRONGER. AND FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND TO SHOW YOU THAT I DO CARE ABOUT YOU EVEN THOUGH I DON^T KNOW YOU, YOU SEEM PRETTY STUPID TO ME OR SLOW OR SOMETHING SO TAKE THIS ADVICE…FROM A SELFISH SELF-CENTERED AMERICAN. DON^T EVER, EVER, EVER! LET ANYBODY HERE YOU SAY THOSE WORDS ALOUD IN PUBLIC BECAUSE I FEL SORRY FOR YOU IF YOU DO.I REMEMBER 911. AMERICA, I LOVE YOU.

posted by lynne@69global.net 2 year ago
  147. THIS IS TO ^TETRA^. THIS IS ALSO IN REFRENCE TO YOUR COMMENT ABOUT 911. YOU^RE STUPID. IF YOU LOOK IN A MED. BOOK, THEN YOU WILL FIND THAT TETRA IS A DRUG AND IT IS USED TO NUMB AND PARALYZE THE BODY. IF YOU DIDN^T FEEL ANYTHING ON 911 OR THINK ANYTHING OF IT WHICH I CONCLUDE THAT YOU DON^T FROM YOUR IGNORANT STATEMENT, THEN YOU ARE WHAT YOUR NAME MEANS. COLD, STIFF, INCAPABLE TO FEEL. AND IF YOU TAKE TOO MUCH OF IT, TETRA IS LETHAL. IF YOU DON^T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT 911 THEN YOU ARE POISION TO THIS COUNTRY.

posted by lynne@69global.net 2 year ago
